The Schaffner Group enhances its family of IEC Lock power cords with Japanese PSE approvals for existing IL13 family and introduces the new IL19 family for currents up to 16A. The power cord families IL with the patented locking system needs no change of existing IEC inlets or IEC inlet filters and locks without additional fixture in every standardized IEC inlet. Just as easily the power cord can be unlocked again by pressing the operating knob.
The FN5040HV sine wave filters from the market leader Schaffner are now available for 690VAC and 600VAC applications. In combination with variable speed drives extra losses in AC motors are reduced and help to prolongate the motor life time. They are precisely matching the technical requirements of modern drive systems and are particularly impressive when used with long motor cables.
The new FN 9264S IEC Power Entry Modules extend market leader Schaffner's wide-ranging product line with a 2-pole power switch version for snap-in mounting. The standard version can be used for a panel thickness from 1.0 to 2.5mm and is appealing due to very good damping characteristics and an outstanding performance/size ratio.
The Schaffner Group is further expanding its power quality product offering with new passive harmonic filters. The series FN3416 (50Hz) and FN3418 (60Hz) of the ECOsine™ Economy Line close the gap between full-performance filters and simple reactor-based solutions. They are particularly suitable for applications where available space is scarce and a cost-effective solution for harmonics mitigation is required.
The Schaffner Group further broadens its product offering of solutions for the improvement of power quality. The popular active harmonic filters ECOsine™ Active are new also available for 3-phase 200V power grids.
Nowadays, an increasing number of energy-efficient electrical consumers are used in industrial and commercial applications, including switch-mode power supplies, variable speed motor drives or LED lighting. These modern technologies contribute significantly to the reduction of electrical energy consumption; however, as an unwanted byproduct of their operation they can negatively affect the power quality.
The Schaffner Group has expanded its product range by the single-stage FN9280 and double-stage FN9290 IEC inlet filters. The new EMC/EMI filter modules with type C14 IEC appliance inlet set the benchmark due to their ultra-compact design, patented combined switch and fuse holder unit, the versatile flange mount system for fast and flexible installation and are either deliverable with fast-on or spring cage terminals.
With versions in compact open design (FN5040) and a housed variant (FN5045 – IP20), Schaffner's sinusoidal filters provide user-friendly solutions for protecting motors in controlled drive systems against high voltage edges with large dv/dt-values and over-voltages. They smooth the pulse-width modulated output voltage of controlled drive units and provide the motor with a clean sinusoidal voltage with low harmonic content.
The sinusoidal filters of the FN5040 and FN5045 series with a nominal current of up to 260A have received the UL-label “cURus”.
SCHAFFNER EMV AG, headquartered in Luterbach, Switzerland, has added the RB series to its product program of current-compensated chokes. The chokes are available as one- and three-phase designs in horizontal and vertical construction for currents from 16 to 50A.
Characteristic of the RB series are the open construction and clear separation of the windings by the use of a new bobbin design. With forced cooling the chokes can operate with up to 80A. The air gaps and leakage paths are designed for working voltages of up to 600Vac /1000Vdc.
The SCHAFFNER Group has extended its product portfolio of IEC inlet filters to include the power cord range IL13 with integrated locking system. Using an easy-to-operate locking button, the IEC Lock snaps into the IEC mains socket and can be easily unlocked by employing slight pressure to the operating button. This eliminates the effort to mount retaining clips to avoid accidental disconnection of the power cord.
The new FN 9264 IEC Power Entry Modules extend market leader Schaffner's wide-ranging product line with a 2-pole power switch version. They are mechanically compatible with the proven FN 9263 series with 1-pole power switch and are appealing due to very good damping characteristics and an outstanding performance/size ratio.
In order to meet the requirements of the lighting technology, SCHAFFNER EMV AG with its head office in Luterbach Switzerland has adapted its product program of current-compensated chokes to the printed circuits and summarized the recommendations in an application note.
The Schaffner Group expands its successful IEC power entry module family with the safety version FN9260A. With integrated fuse holder and a reduced leakage current of maximum 74 microamperes, the new filter series is particularly suitable for use in medical equipment. The filters are available with currents from 1 to 10 A both as a version for flange mounting as well as a snap-in variant. With the UL, CSA and ENEC approvals, the safety version of the IEC power entry module FN9260A can be used worldwide and complies with the requirements of RoHS and REACH.

With the launch of the new FN 3025 and FN 3026 three-phase filters, Schaffner is setting clear priorities with respect to the mechanical housing concept. Schaffner introduces two new series of single-phase filters. Both the FN 2030 and FN 2090 filter series complement the proven FN 2000 filter family and have been developed for applications which require high attenuation features.

dv/dt chokes RWK 305 designed for use on the output of modern frequency inverters and servo drives offer designers and operators reliable and costeffective motor protection. RWK 305 series chokes are manufactured with an open-frame design, using vacuum impregnation to minimise humming.
