Current-compensated chokes for the lighting technology

In order to meet the requirements of the lighting technology, SCHAFFNER EMV AG with its head office in Luterbach Switzerland has adapted its product program of current-compensated chokes to the printed circuits and summarized the recommendations in an application note.

RN chokes assist the products of lighting technology in improving the insensitivity towards the external disturbing sources (EN 55015 emitted interference) and the disturbing influence on other systems (EN61547 interference immunity) and also to meet the standards.

The million times tried and tested RN series with its closed toroidal core is characterized by a high saturation resistance and excellent thermal behaviour. This is especially important for inrush currents and overload during the startup phase, which is very typical for few lighting systems. RN chokes for horizontal and vertical printed circuits can be delivered ex warehouse and due to their compact assembly facilitate the design of an integrated EMC filter with higher power density. The chokes are up to 250VAC UL and VDE-approved and are available standard for a current range between 0.3 and 10A.

They certainly comply with the RoHS and REACH requirements and are available overall ex warehouse through our global distribution and sales network.
